The Buonora Bianco Etna DOC from Tenuta Tascante by Tasca d'Almerita shines straw yellow in the glass, the nose smells of citrus fruits, green apples, jasmine, herbs and mineral nuances. Juicy and full-bodied on the palate, with fresh, crisp, mineral acidity, it unfolds its full range of aromas on the long finish, accompanied by salty, mineral notes.
Vinification of the Buonora Etna DOC from Tenuta Tascante
The Carricante grape variety is the white grape variety that has been growing on the northern slopes of Mount Etna for over 1000 years and was cultivated in the past primarily for its yield. It is the main component of Etna Bianco wines, accounting for 60%. The sandy and mineral volcanic soils have always provided ideal conditions for its refreshing acidity.
The vineyards of the newly founded Tenuta Tascante are laid out in gently curving terraces at an altitude of 600m on the northern side of Europe's most active volcano. For this excellent Sicilian white wine, 100% Carricante grapes are vinified. The grapes are harvested in mid-October. After manual harvesting, the grapes are fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. There is no malolactic fermentation. The wine is then matured in stainless steel tanks for 4 months on the lees.
