Frizzante sparkling wines - duly toasting moments
Frizzante sparkling wines are lightly sparkling wines whose noble perlage comes from the second fermentation. Thus, they are far more dignified than the Spumante sparkling wines and far more sparkling than any still wine. Let yourself be seduced by a colorful and floral taste. In summer, with the clique, as a couple - hardly any occasion and moment can escape the freshness of a chilled Frizzante. The most famous Frizzante is undoubtedly the ever-popular Prosecco, but even beyond the borders of Veneto, the sparkling wines according to the Méthode charmat foam wonderfully and fresh. Frizzante from Spain, Germany and Austria are on a par with the Italian sparkling wine and play with typical regional characteristics, but remain true to their origins: the main thing is fruity, lively, sparkling.
Frizzante and the Méthode Charmat
To get the bubbles into the wine, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in stainless steel tanks. This Méthode Charmat, or tank fermentation process, involves adding sugar and yeast to the base wine and allowing it to ferment in large stainless steel tanks. In this way, over months and in a natural way, own carbonic acid is produced, which is bottled together with the base wine. It is also possible to add artificial carbon dioxide to the base wine, but this must be indicated on the label with the designations Gassificato or Vino addizionato di anidride carbonica. However, you will not find such sparkling wines with artificial carbonation on VINELLO, because fun should always be of natural origin and not artificial or forced.
Things to know about Frizzante
What is Frizzante?
Frizzante is a lightly sparkling sparkling wine, primarily from Italy. Produced according to the Méthode Charmat, Frizzante has a light perlage and typical aromas of fruits and flowers. Frizzante are fresh and crisp sparkling wines for summer and eventful moments with friends and family.
What is the difference between Frizzante and Spumante?
Frizzante is a sparkling wine in which - in contrast to Spumante - the carbonic acid may also be added artificially. This is sometimes a reason why the perlage of a Frizzante disappears quickly, while a Spumante has bubbles to offer even longer after opening. Due to the low carbon dioxide content, there is also less pressure in the bottle of a Frizzante. Only 1 to 2.5 bar of pressure at 20°C compares to the high pressure of 3 bar and more of a Spumante. Thus, the bottle can only be closed with a spago (cord), crown cork or screw cap. The practical aspect here is that the Frizzante sparkling wine is therefore not subject to the sparkling wine tax and can therefore be offered at a lower price. Spumante sparkling wines, for example, are closed by a cork, which is held securely in place by means of an agraffe - a wire clip.

At what drinking temperature should Frizzante sparkling wines be served?
The optimal drinking temperature of Frizzante sparkling wines is between 8 and 10°C.
How should Frizzante sparkling wines be stored?
Frizzante sparkling wines are drinkable immediately after purchase, but can be stored for 1 to 2 years if necessary. Frizzante prefers a dark, cool and temperature-resistant storage place, for example a cellar or even a refrigerator for immediate consumption. The bottle can be stored either upright or lying down.
How long does an open bottle of Frizzante keep?
It is unimaginable that a bottle of Frizzante will still see the light of the next day, but it is explainable after several bottles. Nevertheless, it is not worth trying to store a Frizzante after opening, because the carbonic acid has already disappeared a short time after opening.
