More information about Albe Barolo DOCG - G.D. Vajra

The powerful Albe Barolo from the pen of G.D. Vajra shimmers a dense ruby red in the glass. This G.D. Vajra red wine presents the nose with all kinds of blackberries, blackcurrants, lavender, mulberries and blueberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, gingerbread spice, vanilla and cocoa bean are added thanks to the ageing in large wooden barrels.

The Albe Barolo from G.D. Vajra is just right for all wine enthusiasts who like as little residual sugar in their wine as possible. However, it is never sparse or brittle, as you would naturally expect from a wine. This velvety red wine is full-bodied and complex on the palate. The finish of this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, more precisely from Barolo DOCG, ultimately impresses with a remarkable finish.

Vinification of the Albe Barolo from G.D. Vajra

The basis for the powerful Albe Barolo from Piedmont are grapes from the Nebbiolo grape variety. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for Albe Barolo are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the manual harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by 30 months of ageing in Slavonian oak barrels.

This Italian red wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It goes perfectly with potato pan with salmon, roast veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or goose breast with ginger-red cabbage and marjoram.
