From the Catalan growing region of Priorat in Spain comes the expressive, multi-layered red wine cuvée Coma Vella Tinto from Mas d'en Gil. This wine is vinified from the grape varieties Garnacha Tinta (50%), Cariñena (20%), Garnacha Peluda (20%) and Syrah (10%).
A dark cherry red with purple highlights shimmers in the glass of this wine. The rich bouquet delights with intense notes of black and red fruits - aromas of black cherries, plums, blackberries, currants and raspberries unfold. This is joined by notes of freshly cooked berry jam and sweet balsamic notes. on the palate, this Spanish red wine has a perfect balance of fruit richness and well-integrated acidity. The tannin framework is very well integrated into the powerful body and accompanies into the long lasting finish.
Vinification of the Mas d'en Gil Coma Vella
The grapes for this red wine are carefully hand-picked from 25-year-old vines and carefully selected in the winery. The grapes are carefully pressed and fermented in stainless steel and concrete tanks. The strong color, the varied aromas and the well-balanced tannins are the result of 12 months of aging in French oak.
