More information about Mr. Borios Shiraz - Simonsig
With Simonsig Mr. Borio's Shiraz comes a first-class red wine in the glass. In this it reveals a wonderfully dense, crimson color. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from South Africa presents wonderfully fragrant aromas of black cherry, blueberry, lily and lilac, rounded off by oak, toasted barrique and cigar box, which the barrel aging contributes.
Simonsig Mr. Borio's Shiraz delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 2.6 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this South African naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need sugar. On the tongue, this punchy red wine is characterized by an immensely melting, fleshy and dense texture. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, Mr. Borio's Shiraz flatters the palate with a velvety feel, without lacking juicy liveliness. In the finish, this red wine from the Coastal Region wine-growing region finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of plum and black cherry.
Vinification of the Simonsig Mr. Borio's Shiraz
The powerful Mr. Borio's Shiraz from South Africa is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the Shiraz grape variety. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, Mr. Borio's Shiraz can continue to harmonize for 10 months on the fine lees.
